A user manual is now included with the application (Since 3.0.9).
To get DISCOVERYspace running, you will need to first ensure that you have Java installed locally. Click on the big yellow button 'Get it now' to download a Java Runtime Environment for your platform and follow the installation instructions.
The steps required to install the DISCOVERYspace application are straightforward:
File | OS | Version | Date | Description | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Release Notes | DISCOVERYspace-3.2.zip | Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP | 3.2 | 2004.02.24 | Standard ZIP |
Release Notes | DISCOVERYspace-3.2.tar.gz | Linux | 3.2 | 2004.02.24 | GZipped Tar Archive |
Starting with version 3.1.2, the InstallAnywhere installation system will no longer be used. Previously, users downloaded an InstallAnywhere deployment that would install the software in a standard manner on Windows machines. However, Administrator privileges were required to do so, making fast upgrades difficult for users on shared machines. We now provide releases in a standard archive format.
A stipulation of using this development version is a commitment to timely bug reporting. You can use the Feature Request and Report Bug options under the Help menu within the software. Using these features will send a full execution log that will greatly assist developers in diagnosing the cause of any problems. If you include a return email in your report, you will be notified of an existing solution or about future fixes.
